Advanced Pistol Courses:
These courses focus on assisting the participants to develop accuracy, appreciate tactical considerations and experience what it means to function under stress. Included is the CFO Qualifying Pistol Course of Fire (50) rounds.
The course is 1 full day in duration. Required are a minimum of 300 rounds, appropriate equipment, safety glasses and hearing protection. Either duty rigs or concealed carry equipment is acceptable. Pistols need to be minimum 38spc in caliber and basically as they come from manufacturer.
Security personnel wishing to do their annual re-certification need to use their duty pistols and equipment but may use standard ammunition.
Course fee is $100.00 per individual.
Depending on demand we plan to run these courses on a monthly basis. The next course will be run on October 9th, 2010, at the Madoc Hunters and Anglers Club.

Hi, the Smiths Falls Fish and Game Club will hold an IDPA Classifier match on Saturday, October 2. This match is for current IDPA members only. It is a 90-round Limited Vickers scoring match over three stages. The details of the match can be found in your IDPA Rule Book or online at www.idpa.com.
The match takes about 90 minutes to complete and we are limiting the match to a maximum of 16 shooters. We will be starting squads of four shooters every 90 minutes until everyone has shot the match or we run out time.
Start times will be: 10:00AM, 11:30AM, 1:00PM, and 2:30PM. Choice of start times will be on a first come, first served basis.
The cost of the Classifier is $10.00
Please let me know if you wish to participate and your preferred start time.
P.S. Keep Saturday, October 16 open for our last Defensive Pistol match of the season.

The next in the series of courses will be run on Sunday September 26, 2010 at the Madoc Sunset Handgun Club.
The course focuses on skills, tactics, and performing under stress. It includes the CFO course of fire for armed security guards thereby qualifying them for for re-certification.

The Smiths Falls Fish and Game Club presents “A Blast from the Past”, a six stage IDPA club level match featuring stages used during the past four years. The course of fire is a minimum of 78 rounds. We are going to limit this match to a maximum of 24 shooters on Saturday in two squads that will both start at 10:00 AM and finish when we finish. There will be no afternoon squads. When we have finished there will be hot dogs and cool refreshment in the clubhouse. The cost of the match is $25.00 and includes hot dogs.

Saturday August 14, 2010, Madoc Sunset Handgun Club 9:00 am to 5:00pm
This course is in 3 parts. The first covers rapid target acquisition through front sight focus & drills. The second will deal with tactics and a strong focus on reality. The third will deal with shooting under stress. Course fee is $100.00
This course is ideal for military, law and security personnel. This course along with a written exam will provide re-certification for security officers.

- The Defensive Pistol Matches and the Club Defensive Pistol Evenings are open to anyone who has completed acceptable holster training (IPSC Black Badge, IDPA, CDP, PPC, SFFGC Holster Course, Canadian Forces Level III Holster, or serving LEO). The Club Defensive Pistol Evenings will begin at approximately 18:00 and will consist of two or three-stage drills to help shooters develop their shooting skills. There will be no cost to club members; guests will be charged $5.00 per evening.
